
‘Future Tripping’ is a response to eco-anxiety, and, in keeping with the theme of the performance, explores the role of imagination in. ‘Eco-anxiety’ is generally recognised as ‘our emotional response to the threat posed by the climate and biodiversity crisis’ (Hickman, 2020, p.414). Wodak (2018, p.58) suggests that there is limited research on the relationship between popular music and climate change, so I sought to explore this in my own composition.
