‘The Shape of Your Love’ is a love letter to my friends and family, both current and future. The song was inspired from the book What My Bones Know, Stephanie Foo's memoir of healing from complex PTSD. The main message that I took from the book is that love has to be practiced in order to be embodied and in order to truly heal. In Foo's (2022) words, 'we ha[ve] to go out and practice maintaining relationships in order to reinforce our shattered belief that the world could be a safe place'. This song is the last on the EP, and the last in this performance, because it signifies a new beginning which I have been able to reach through utilising the power of imagination and community together.
